What are the Risks associated with Skin Cancer?

    Fair Skin

    Positive Family History of Skin Cancer

    Many Congenital Nevi (moles) espcially at scalp & forehead

    Many Freckles

    Frequent Sunburn

    Failue to Use Suncreen Properly

    Excessive Indoor Tanning

    Living in the Sunbelt area like Australia & New Zealand

To Reduce the Chance of having Skin Cancer

    Use Sunscreen when exposed to Ultra-violet-radiation.

    Wear tightly woven protective clothing and wide-brimmed hats, seek shade during midday sun exposure.

    For these with several moles especially at the scalp and forehead, have a yearly skin examination for signs of skin cancer. Remove those with sign of early cancer.
