Emotional Social Development
Give her a cuddly toy or teddy bear to play with. Praise her as often as possible. Kiss and hug as the situation call for. Listen to classical or soft music.
Avoid TV at all cost. Never shout or argue in
front of her or from a hearing distance. Language & Communication
Follow still her focus of attention. Get into the habit of looking to see what she is looking at. Talk about the object or focus of her attention.
Always point at objects you are talking about. Stop your learning activities if she started getting bored, tired, or sleepy. Use short and simple sentences.

Emotional & Social Development (5 months Old)
·Smiles & vocalizes to attract attention ·Resists and complains when you remove toy from her hand ·Shows interest in new surroundings & rapidly expanding awareness of her environment ·Gets excited when she hears her food being prepared; she is showing anticipation for an event for the first time ·Plays on her own when left alone ·Stops crying or fussing when she's talked to or when she hears music ·Can be shy in company of strangers ·Plays attachment to a teddy bear or other comforter
Learning & cognitive (5 months old)
·Focuses well but prefers to look at objects within 3 feet ·Curious to handle toys or objects within reaching distance ·Drops one object when another toy attracts her ·Loves to explore at every opportunity ·Locates sound source below her and not just in line with her ears ·Becoming expert in finding source of sounds but needs still to turn her whole head towards them rather than just her eyes ·Appears to recognize her name, promptly looking for the speaker ·Recognizes her siblings & enjoys watching them play ·Begins to associate more familiar words with their meanings ·Sensitive to patterns of tune, rate, and stress that mark some of the boundaries between major parts of a sentence ·Starts to understand that banging an object will make noise ·Loves music and enjoys being sung to ·Plays a lot with sounds when she is alone and with others
Language & Communication (5 months old)
·Uses three or more babbling sounds, eg. Hand-Eye Coordination (5 months old)
·Can hold a small object in her hand ·Has a firm grip and doesn't like to let go ·Lifts hand toward a nearby toy ·May accurately reach for a toy nearby ·Grabs a toy and put it in her mouth ·More aware of her hands and feet & enjoys playing with fingers & toes ·Starts to look for a toy that she drop from her grasp ·Watches parent as they move around the room
Motor Activity (5 months old)
·Moves around the floor or crib by turning her body or rolling ·Pushes feet firmly on the floor ·Keeps legs in the air and kick for a few minutes ·Holds head straight when supported upright ·Sits up with slight support, turns head ·Lifts head when she is lying on her back ·May roll from one side to the other, her first "step" to mobility
