QUALITY FAMILY RELATIONSHIP & PARENTAL HEALTH (2 to 3 Months Old Visit)

  • Keep in contact with friend & family members. Send e-mail to them regularly.
  • Take some time for yourself & spend some individual with your partner.
  • Encourage your partner to participate in the care of baby.
  • Continue to meet the needs of other children in the family.  Encourage them to help in care of baby.
  • Avoid Television until 6 year old.
  • Parents should limit Television watching to no more than one hour a day.  They should read more books or magazine.
  • Discuss family planning with your partner. If you decide to have another baby, it will be healthier if there is adequate spacing between your pregnancies, if you maintain an appropriate maternal weight for height, and if you avoid smoking & drinking alcohol.

COMMUNITY RESOURCES

  • If you need financial assistance to help pay for health care expenses, ask about resources or referrals to the state Medicaid programs or other state medical assistance programs.
  • Ask about resources or referrals for food (e.g., WIC), housing, or transportation if needed.
  • Consider attending parent education classes or parent-child play groups.
  • Go to the public or community hospital library and borrow books about child development.  Surf the internet about child health.
  • Maintain or expand ties to your community through social, religious, volunteer, cultural, and recreational organizations or resources.
  • For mother returning to work: Discuss child care referral agencies or similar community services with your clinician. Discuss how to continue breastfeeding.
  • Face Recognition
