Emotional and Social Development
At around four to six months old, she will learn that when she cries, you will come and get her. This cry that she is making is not a cry of hunger but a cry saying, "I want to play." Because of your previous prompt response from her cry of hunger and wetness, she has learned now that you will come also if she wants company or play. This development is a new milestone in socialization one where your response is very crucial in helping her develop into a happy, independent person in the future.
The play and attentiveness that you provide at this age is important in building her self-confidence and desire for discovery. Every story you read to her, every hug and kisses she received, and every game you played with her accumulates in her memory bank which later on will support her self esteem.
At around six months, she will become highly imitative of your actions, moods, and behaviors. Your responses and actions will make a deep impression on her and she will seek your approval more often.
It is during this period that what you teach her and what she learns every hour from watching you will greatly shape her disposition and personality, and even her destiny.
