Oscar, early signer and very smart

Today I saw, Oscar, a 12-month-old boy for one-year-old routine check up. He was my first patient who was able to do a "two-word" sign language.  In front of me, on mother's request, he did a sign for "more drink."  He was able to do a sign for "all gone."

At home, according to his mother, Oscar, could do sign language for "thank you," "more," "help," "eat," "yes," "clap." And "bad." His mother said that he is a happy boy and does not get frustrated because he can do some sign language. If he wants to drink, he makes a "more drink" sign and if he is hungry, he does the sign for "eat more."

When Oscar was about 8 months old, I encouraged his mother to start sign language.
