Ten Commandments for Better
Health Care Outcome
1.Thou shalt have a copy of your medical records especially with a list of all your medications you have taken before, and your allergies.
2.Thou shalt know the generic and brand name of your medications and its side effects.
3.Thou shalt ask for a second opinion if you are not getting better with your current treatment.
4.Thou shalt ask for a second opinion before an elective surgery.
5.Thou shalt not believe everything you read in the Internet. Visit only medical or health websites associated with a Nationally recognized organization or government agency.
6.Thou shalt learn how to communicate with your clinician effectively.
7.Thou shalt maintain only one pharmacist and have a friendly relationship with them.
8. Thou shalt try to stay with one primary care physician as long as possible.
9. Thou shalt not be afraid to ask questions about side effects of medications and medical procedures.
10. Thou shalt not accept prescription that are not legible. Request your clinician to make it legible
or computer generated to reduce errors.
