The concept of two for infants
From about 10 to 12 inches from your child’s face, show your right index finger and middle finger pointing up, the palm side facing your child, and say, “Two.”
Move your right hand backward and forward about two inches, and say, “Two, two.”
Rotate your hand around with the back side of your right hand facing your child, and say, “Two, two” moving your hand quickly backward and forward twice.
Now flex both right index and middle finger making a fist. Bring up the fifth finger and fourth finger. Say, “Two, two” Both of them should be vertically pointing up.
Bring down both fifth and middle finger touching the palm. Now you have closed fist.
Rotate your right hand with the palm side facing your baby.
Bring up your index finger up and say, “One.” Bring up your thumb pointing up, and say “Two.” Follow this up with, “Two, two.” With your left index finger, point at the right thumb and say, “One” and point at the index finger and say, “Two.” Bring down your left index finger to your side, and move your right hand forward and back by about two inches and say, “Two.”
Get two red apples and place them in front of your baby from about 10 inches. With your right index finger, point at one apple and say, “One” and point at the other apple and say, “Two.”
Hold one of the apple and lift and move towards your baby by about two inches and say, “One” and bring it back to its original place. Pick up the other apple, lift it up and move forward by about two inches also and say, “Two.”
Then point at each apple and say, “One, two.” Repeat this two times.
Get two oranges and follow the same procedure in counting “two” just like what you did with the apples.
