From about 10 to 12
inches from your child’s face, show your right index finger pointing up,
and say, “One.”
Bring down your
right index finger into a fist position and bring your fifth finger
pointing up and say, “One.” Pause for about three seconds, and say, “One”
again.
Bring down the fifth
finger to its original fist position.
Now bring up your
right thumb pointing up and say, “One.” Pause for about 3 seconds and say
“One” again.
You have
demonstrated the concept of “One” three times using your index finger,
fifth finger and thumb.
Repeat the same
method and use your left index, fifth finger, and thumb.
